Jacksonville Volleyball Advances to ASUN Semifinals
In a significant achievement for Jacksonville volleyball, the Dolphins secured their first ASUN Tournament victory since 2015 by defeating North Alabama in four sets. The standout player was graduate student Madi Novak, who contributed 17 kills, along with six digs and three blocks. The match started with Jacksonville taking an early lead, but North Alabama made a strong comeback in the first set before the Dolphins ultimately won 25-23. The second set saw North Alabama take a narrow victory at 25-21. Jacksonville rebounded in the third set, leading throughout and winning 25-19. The fourth set appeared challenging as North Alabama initially held an 11-3 advantage, but Jacksonville responded with a remarkable 12-1 run to regain control, closing out the match with a set score of 25-20. Head coach Alicia Manguiat praised the team's composure and determination. Next, the Dolphins will face the Eastern Kentucky Colonels in the conference semifinals, with the match scheduled for 4 PM.
